Welcome to Proven Best Practices (PBP): Proven Reserves’ monthly reservoir engineering newsletter. Here you can browse the archive of previous issues (all in PDF format up until January 2010, after which all issues are provided in rich-HTML), as well as read the most recent issues right from your browser. PBP subscribers may read the current month’s issue here, or have it sent directly to their email.

What is PBP?

PBP is a monthly reservoir engineering newsletter that covers technical issues, monitors changes in Alberta’s oil and gas industry, provides commentary on modern trends, and keeps clients up-to-date on Proven Reserves’ corporate news.

PBP is offered as a monthly email-based newsletter free of charge to clients and other interested parties within the oil and gas industry.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

I have subscribed to PBP, but I haven’t yet received a newsletter!

Though PBP is generally a monthly publication, and we try to publish the latest issue in a timely fashion, unforeseen circumstances may necessitate delays in delivery. If you have not received a newsletter by the end of the month in question, please do the following before contacting us:

Check your junk mail – Some email clients immediately relocated mass mail outs to the local junk mail folder. If this is the case, please change the junk filter to allow for PBP to be delivered to your inbox.

Check Proven-Reserves.com’s PBP section – If the issue in question is not yet available on Proven Reserves’ website, it is possible that internal delays on our side have prevented a publication during that month. We will try to keep the PBP section of the site updated with such information.

If you have not received a newsletter, but notice that the latest issue is available on the website, there may be delays with your mail server. Check with your local information technology specialist to ensure that your mail server is delivering the newsletter to your inbox.

I have received a newsletter, but the email doesn’t display anything!

In order to view PBP through your email client, you must have set your client to allow rich HTML and images. Web-based clients such as Hotmail and Gmail usually allow images by default. For Microsoft Outlook users, please check here for help enabling rich HTML.

I have enabled rich HTML and images, and still don’t see anything!

Though we have tested the newsletter in various common email clients, it is possible that the one you are using does not support our newsletter. In this case, please contact us to change your subscription to receive an emailed link to the website page instead.

Some of the links in the newsletter are broken!

Prior to mail out, the newsletter is generally tested internally to make sure that all of the text is displayed correctly and all of the hyperlinks are active. However, should you discover an error or broken link, please report to us as soon as possible and we will resend you a fixed issue.

I can’t view the latest issue from the website!

Please make sure that you are logged in as a client (accessible from the upper-right corner of Proven-Reserves.com), as non-registered users cannot access the latest issue of PBP. If you are a current subscriber to PBP and correctly logged in but still cannot access the latest issue, please contact us as soon as possible so we can look into the problem.

I want to forward the newsletter to a friend, but the forwarded copy is “broken”!

Unfortunately, this has been a problem for us as well, and we are still not completely sure why this happens. However, since subscription to PBP is free, we would recommend that your friend sign up for a subscription of their own.

I am moving companies but would like to continue my subscription to PBP!

We are happy to keep your subscription active. Please email us as soon as you can to advise us of your move and new email address that you would like PBP delivered to.

I would like to discontinue my PBP subscription!

To terminate your subscription, click here to visit our subscribe/unsubscribe page, and fill out the appropriate and applicable information.

I would like information on advertising in PBP!

Please email us with your request, and we will be happy to provide you with a no-commitment advertising information, cost, and specs pack.

I would like information on advertising on your website!

Unfortunately we do not sell space for advertisers on our webpage, but would encourage you to take a look at the advertising opportunities in PBP (see above).
